Yulia is a first-year PhD student majoring in Sport Studies. She is originally from Russia and earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Management at State University of Management (Moscow, Russia). Yulia joined the Department of Kinesiology in 2022 and earned her Master’s degree in Sport Administration at Mississippi State University. In her study with Dr. Lim, she hopes to explore how physical activity programs empower participants and improve their quality of life.
Yulia is a former professional swimmer. She attended lots of swimming camps where she trained hard with Russia’s best athletes. During her university years in Moscow she was a member of the SUM national swimming team. Currently, Yulia is an Adapted Aquatics Instructor of MSU Adapted Swim Camp which teaches people with disabilities basic water safety and swimming skills.
